LV=, the UK’s most trusted and recommended insurer, has today announced that it has appointed Alan Hickman to the newly created role of Head of Digital Capability and Delivery for General Insurance with immediate effect. He will report to Heather Smith, Digital Transformation Director.
In his new role, Alan will have responsibility for delivering the digital roadmap across Broker and Claims within the General Insurance arm of the business. He will also lead digital capability, ensuring that new and existing employees have the right skills, tools and knowledge to support LV=’s digital agenda.
Alan joined LV= in September 2008 following the acquisition of Highway Insurance. Prior to his new role within the Digital team, he was the Head of Self-Serve Operations within the LV= Broker business, responsible for the creation and execution of the Personal Lines, Commercial Package and Motor operational strategy.
Commenting on his appointment, Heather Smith said: “Since I joined LV=last year, I’ve been working on the creation of our digital strategy and roadmap. A big part of this has been focused on getting the right people in our team and I’m really pleased that Alan is joining us. Having worked for LV= for the last nine years and within insurance for 17, he has some fantastic insight into how the company and our market operates along with a strong understanding of existing and emerging technology. He also has an outstanding track record of delivering and managing change and I’m confident that he will do a fantastic job in this new role.”
