Britannia Rescue wins Brightside Insurance Group road rescue contract

Britannia Rescue, part of LV=, has been appointed by Brightside Group PLC to provide breakdown cover to its road rescue customers within it's broker division. The win sees Britannia Rescue take on around 90,000 existing Brightside customers from 1 February. The book consists of a range of vehicles including motorbikes and cars, as well as commercial fleet business. Brightside's road rescue policies are sold as 'add on' cover to Brightside's motor insurance customers.

Britannia Rescue was awarded the contract after a review of the incumbent and a competitive pitch. The business will transfer over the course of 2012 and policies underwritten by the following Brightside brands are included: Commercial Vehicle Direct, Motor and Home Direct including Taxi Direct, One Business Insurance Solutions, You Choose and One Bike.

Britannia Rescue is recognised as the fourth largest road rescue company in the UK and is increasingly seen as the partner of choice by brokers. The company also provides branded and white label road rescue products to corporate partners. The company operates a network of over 3000 UK roadside technicians enabling the company to offer unique local knowledge and experience to customers that have broken down. Britannia Rescue also covers the whole of Europe. It receives over 98% customer satisfaction and customers have an average wait of less than 42 minutes.
